The Wersi Classical Pipe Organ

A Library of Total Presets for importing into an OAS-7 instrument.

These Total Presets are arranged for instruments having nine Selector sound positions, but will still work in those instruments with six Selector sound positions. In each of these registrations, the Expression Pedal has been set up as a combined Swell and Crescendo Pedal. To start playing set the Expression Pedal fully back. While playing, gradually advance the pedal to the fully forward position and experience the increase in sound as more “stops” are opened. Additionally, the sounds in the Upper Manual Selector 2 and 3 positions are separately switchable with the Expression Pedal switches.

Set 2 : The Wersi Sacral Sound Package - 1

In each of these Total Presets, sounds solely from the Wersi Sacral Sound Package have been used. For those who do not have that package yet, some of the Presets have been illustrated with an audio file, the link for which is this symbol X. Those files are very short and do not convey the full possibility of voicing the Total Preset. You can use the “LM Hold” on-screen button to mix and match any Lower Manual set of registrations with any Upper Manual set, thus giving further versatility. Each Total Preset is limited to the “stop” being demonstrated plus a Principal and/or a Flue stop.

If you are unfamiliar with the arrangement of a pipe organ, Jeff Ormerod has kindly provided a series of articles which will appear with each of the Total Presets Sets from now on. You can download from here the first one: Playing your Wersi as a Classical Pipe Organ - Part 1.

In Set 5, the final Set, some sample registrations will be provided by Jeff Ormerod with Wersi equivalent Total Presets using the Sacral Sound Package. There will be audio demonstrations of each Total Preset. In the Sound Factory Master Class at the same time (Master Class - 3) there will be the equivalent registrations set up as single sounds per manual. They will be presented as tables of settings as the sounds themselves cannot be exported. Sound editing processes covered in the first two Master Classes will be used and there will also be some “recipe” features for processes yet to be covered in the Classes.

Final Part : A Set of Registrations designed by Jeff Ormerod

There are no Total Presets to download for this part. Instead, you can download the final part of Jeff’s series of articles: Playing your Wersi as a Classical Pipe Organ - Part 4. This contains the designs for thirteen Registrations which Jeff uses regularly when playing classical organ set up using the Wersi OAS Sacral Package, for you to build your own Total Presets. Jeff has also produced an audio demonstration track for each of these Registrations and you can listen to these using the links below. Each is referred to in the Article.

Our Sound Factory Masterclass for February 2013 converges with this final part of the Wersi Classical Pipe Organ Project. In Master Class 3 you will find each of the above Registrations (where more than one sound is used) represented by a single Sound Factory edited sound. This enables larger registrations to be built up than can be accommodated by having each sound in a single Selector.
